dope dope dope dope i keep on forgetting to write blogs these few days. i mean, i kept on writing wats supposed to be the blog of the day before when that blog was written in. do i make sense? i guess not. well, if it doesnt make sense to u, to bad so sad. not that ure really trying to understand me as if wat im writing is in ur exams, right? humm, im supposed to go to Daniel's skating party today, but since karen's not going, im not going. i wont noe anyone in the skating party (other than a few boys) 'cause vivian's not going, kelly's not going, and joyce isn't going either. also, i need karen to drive me there. we still didnt get a new car yet. going anywhere is soo inconvenient without a car.
im gonna start my science experiment today. at least, i hope i can get it done before the new year's gala. I HOPE. >< ><...im not being proactive, am i? ahhhh wat to say?? oooh yeah this is supposed to be my multimedia blog. its saturday. my multimedia blog day. my picture this week is....:

yay shinichi and ran are getting married!! NOT. its just conan imagining this guy called doctor Aizen and ran getting married. cause he thought ran was flirting with him. i took the picture and replaced dr. aizen's face with shinichi's face. and now, its shinichi!!! in case ure wondering, ran is the girl, and shinichi is the boy. ran is a very weird name, dont u think? then again, its japanese. her english dubbed name is rachel, and shinichi's english dubbed name is jimmy. stupid names. all english subbed names are stupid. and weird sounding. ive never liked english dubbed versions of anime. except maybe fullmetal alchemist. that's partly because i never watched the japanese subbed english version of fullmetal alchemist until 2 weeks ago. n the ppl sounded weird. the bleach dubbed version is ok, i guess, but i still like the subbed version better.
i played 3 hours of piano yesterday and 2 hours the day before yesterday. that's quite a lot. so i dont wanna play it today. but i dont think my mom's going let me off that easily. i'll pretend i've forgotten, and if my mom forgets to remind me, i wont have to play!!! noo my verb tenses are all mixed up! i wonder if all my blogs have mixed up verb tenses. anyways, this is just my blog, so why do i care? isnt not english class. my blog my blog my blog. not some essay. like that yugoslavia essay that was so hard to find information on.
did i mention that sudam died today? or was it yesterday? i donno when he died, but my parents watched a video of ppl hanging him. i didnt watch. i was in my room reading. besides, i could always check it up on the internet and then watch it. not that i want to. well, i've seen marie antoinette beheaded (or was it hanged?) and anne boleyn beheaded. i dont intend to see more

ok, this is yesterday's blog, so i'll write about wat happened yesterday.
well, i stayed home and read this book on electricity that im doing my science project on. i didnt really start on it yet though. i mean, i read a bit of the book, but that's probably it. gotta get moving. with luck, i'll finish both my research and my exeriment before the end of winter break, and only have the editing and the poster to worry about after winter holidays. then again, i also have the chinese exam to worry about. i dont care whether i get over90% or not, i just want to pass. last time, i have 88% which isnt that far from 90% but still kinda bad. most ppl get really high in chinese tests.

OMG OMG OMG im starting a lot of blogs with OMG now.. well, there were a lot of things to be "OMG" about since winter holidays started, and the OMG's are still comming.
we (my mom and i) went shopping for clothes and shoes today. although i would have liked running shoes better, we bought 3 pairs of black leather dress shoes. they were on sale at sears, and i needed black shoes for strings concerts anyways. my olds black shoes were kinda small, and they were old. now, i have 2 paires! the third pair was for my mom.
we went to gap after that. n...uh...we bought 2 pairs of pants and 1 sweater. im not really that excited about those pants...well, at least i got new pants. the sweater was really stretchy, which i like, but am not really freaking over about. next, we went to aritzia! it was my first time in aritzia yay! n we bought 2 t-shirts. those two t-shirts costed..guess wat...60 dollars! two tiny little t-shirts for 60 dollars. im surprised my mom bought them for me. well, she said that they had a really nice shape to it, although the neckline is a bit too low. i really like those 2 t-shirts.
right now, im in the central library trying to find books about principles of electricity. i found around 7 books on it, and found tons of websites on it. now, because i have nothing to do, im writing my blog. *growl growl growl* my stomach is making a lot of sounds. and my pimples are going *squish squish squish* ahahaha not really. but its awfully red today. it'll better heal before i get back to school!

yay i went swimming today!! it felt fun, but i only swam 18 laps at a time...i used to be able to do waaay more than that. i mean, in aquaquest 12, we swam for an hour non-stop.
karen was there with me, and uh...we swam! she figured out how to sink down to the bottom in the deep end by watching me. "let me observe u," she said. the key was to put ur arms straight above ur head (or flat against ur torso) and not move. i myself think its easier if u turn urself upsidedown and kick ur legs, but not moving works as well.
when we were going to the swimming pool, i couldnt find my purse, so we used karen's money for the bus fee. she used 2 dollars because we didnt have a loonie and 2 quarters. after we got off and changed buses, i kinda lost my bus ticket. well, i didnt lose it, it was in my wallet, but my wallet had a chunk full of bus cards. we had to look for it for such a long time. by the time i had found it, the 6 old ladies were laughing their heads off. when i put the bus pass into the machine, the bus driver was also laughing. i told my mom about this, and she was laughing too.
i was listening to "reflections" in mulan when my mom and dad went to look at cars they want to buy. it sounded soo good. i wish i could type singning. does that make sense to u? well, if it doesnt, im not gonna bother explaining.

Omg Omg Omg this is the best day of my life!!! I finally got an MP3 player, and one that has a display screen at that! ooohh and did i mention the new computer my parents boguht? and 2 USB drives? the coolest mouse ever? they spent sooo much money yay!! i like it when they spend a lot of money on electronics. the new computer i have is going to be upgraded into the new windows vista, a new computer system that is going to replace windows xp. right now, because windows vista hasnt come out yet, im using windows xp media center. its very very cool. and fast. well, we didnt buy the montor for our new computer though, only the keyboard, mouse, and cpu. we bought an additional mouse because the mouse that comes with the computer isnt optical.
ok, my mp3 player:
-has 1 BG of space
-can record sounds
-can play videos, music, and show pictures
-has a 1.5 inch display screen
it kinda looks like an ipod, but its not. i think its the same one that joyce has. well, theres the one that can hold 2 GB, maybe she has that one. otherwise, im pretty sure she has wat i have.
we bought 2 USB drives, so now, we have a total of 4. the earliest one we bought is around 2 years old. she (notice that im not using "it") holds 256 mb and is silver. the second one we bought was a really small one. it holds only 54 mb and is half black, half silver. the ones we bought today were a really good deal. they were only 6 dollars each, and they can hold up to 512 mb. usually, these USB drives are around 70 dollars each. w/e, as long as i have one.
i already uploaded all my jpop songs into my mp3 player. its took a loooong time to recharge. i also uploaded a few classical songs, including "the four seasons" composed by vivaldi, "the blue danube" composed by strauss, and "moonlight sonata" composed by beethoven. i really wanna upload praeludium and allegro into it too, but i cant find a place to download it. i found it on youtube, but i cant download from youtube. well, actually, u can, but opening it up is another matter. i tried opening the file, and windows media player told me it didnt support the codec. i tried downloading the program that supports that type of file, but when it played, its we slower than grass growing! uggh!!! maybe it wasnt really the program's fault...i'll try it again on this computer later.
my parents have gone out to this place near surrey to look at this car. a 2006 toyota corolla. i hope they buy it. ever since our car broke down, it was like we didnt have legs. i really really hope they buy the car. that way, i'll still be able to go to my courses on saturdays without wasting much time and go shopping without having to worry about how heavy the thing we're buying is. not having a car is suuch a pain.
i also want my parents to get a new car 'cause our old car was a bit of an embarrasment. its oold. old old old old..older than me. that should give u an idea of how it looks like.
overall, i think this is the best christmas ever, even if it means that i'll have to do my science project. i just discovered that i had to buy or borrow this thing called the "adjustable autotransformer" to do my project. i hope we'll be able to find a shop that sells this. without it, im doomed. DOOMED
i had to wake up at 5:30 this morning to go to future shop. *yawn* i slept at 11 last night. that was 7 and a half hours of sleep. no wonder i always have bags under my eyes. i should seriously get more sleep. darn stomach growling. growling. growling. it gets louder and louder. better eat something to calm it down. actually, the only thing that is eatable without cooking in my fridge is chocolates. we have a looot of chocolates. the other things i suppose are eatabel without cooking them, sort of. but i dont feel like tomatoes and lettuce now. would chocolate alone fill me stomach? well, at least there are mandarines and bananas.

yay Christmas day has finally come!! well, we dont celebrate christmas much, so we didnt really do anything. basically, i read "the shadow of the wind" from the moment i woke up until 4 oclock in the afternoon, when i finished it. then, my dad gave me 50 bucks for chirstmas. yay 50 dollars!!! then i took a shower and washed my hair, which i havent washed since last week. a lot of ppl think people who dont wash their hair once in at least 2 or 3 days are disgusting (ahem, lil miss prodigess), but i find that my hair doesnt get as dry.the washing of my hair takes away all the oil, and my hair becomes as dry has hay.
argg i hate the spelling check here. soo annoying. i dont spell a lot of words with apostrophes, and they say its wrong. they also think that words like "yay" and "lil" is wrong too. things that should be spelled with capitals like "christmas" and "friday" are also wrong. i like writing blogs informally, without having to put my pinkie finger on the "shift" key.
boxing day tmw!! cant wait!!! i think my mom's gonna get me new clothes :D and new earrings. :D oooh to top it all that, they're getting a new car. im pretty sure of that. they have been hunting like ... uh ... hunters these few days. and maybe they're gonna get a new computer for me too! even if it doesnt include the monitor. we have a spare monitor handy, and the CPU is only 300 dollars! well, i dont quite think they're getting a computer at the same time as they're getting a new car and clothes, so i'll just be hopeful.

ok, this is actually the blog of Christmas eve okay?? well, i spent the whole day reading today. the books called "the shadow of the wind". it was good. i read more books this weekend than the total books i read since September. school was really stressing for me, i guess, and i havent been able to do many of my hobbies. i read 3 books since friday, but the other two books were quite thin. u noe the book we were reading for english? the old brown suitcase? i was reading the sequels to that book: the sunflower diary and the lenski file.
my neighbours asked us to eat dinner with them. we said yes. so i ate dinner with them, not taking part of their conversation. they spoke all mandarin. its not that i dont understand mandarin, its just that i lack an ability to make up sentences that make sense in chinese. when i talk to my parents, i usually use english to make up for words that i dont noe in chinese, and my chinese clauses are a bit switched around so that they resembled that of english's.
well, anyway, my neighbours think im a bit stupid because i dont talk much. if i dont talk to my mom, they'll think im dumb (as in not being able to speak). they talked to my parents about it, that's how i noe. its very sad to be thought of as "dumb" in both 'not being able to talk' and 'mentally stupid'. after i ate with them, i returned home to read, and i read all the way until 2:15 in the morning.

yay my multimedia blog for today!!
i drew this picture this summer as well. its the funniest looking picture i ever drew. ahaha dont u think it looks weird? this guy is very perverted, and this is wat he looks like when he sees a very beautiful lady. karen doesnt like this picture much, but it think its one of my best ones.
anyway, this pic is shaded too, like almost all of my other pics. the length of his face is slightly exaggerated, but the length of the mouth is a little more than slightly exaggerated...i think.

i will, i will get the flexibility i had 3 years ago. i will i will!! im just a little rusty, thats all. 3 years ago, i could do the splits with both left and right legs no prob, but now, it hurts. i could still do it okay with my right leg, but doing the splits with my left leg is just pain and more pain!! ugh ugh. and u wont believe wat doing the bridge for 5 minutes does to u! my spine is aching right now, im not even sure whether it'll heal. my arms are numb and so are my legs. the bridge really is hard to do when i comes to staying in that position for 5 minutes. u should try it someday.
no matter what, im going to gain my flexibility back, no matter wat. i was proud of my ability in grade 4, but i stopped in grades 5,6, and 7. now, its payback time. i'll have to work harder than ever during the winter vacation.
ever since i started going to laurier, ive been getting less flexible by the day. does the theory of "equivalent trade" exist in the world? cause im convinced it is. i traded my ablility to do gymnastics for the ability to play the violin. perhaps running has something to do with it too. in grade 6, i was soo good at running, but now, im only a tiny bit above average. ahh!!! im planning to do more gymnastics during the winter vacation. i am. heres wat im gonna do to get my flexibility back:
Bridge: do the bridge for 4 minutes each day
Left Split: do this 5 minutes each day
Right Split: do this 5 minutes each day
Hand stand against wall: do this 5 minutes each day
Head stand: 5 minutes each day

and when i can do the left and right split perfectly without my legs hurting, i'll start practicing for the front split (i dont noe the formal name). although many ppl find the front split much easier than left and right splits, i find it much harder.
i also want to do some muscle stretches such as crunches and pushups over the holiday, so this is wat im planning:
20 pushups each day (make sure to go all the way down)
30 crunches
2 minutes of table top
and ill be a bit healthier in no time! though it takes time...

Happy B-day, Julianne! May all ur wishes come true!!
i just realized something. the bus drivers dont give out those old-fashioned tickets that they rip anymore. weh ni just came to canada, all the tickets were like that. now, they're all printed by a machine. all of them. 2 years ago, at least a few of them still had those old-fashioned tickets. but now, they have NONE. i kinda liked them, by the way.
u noe that sign-out places in the central library? you can sign out ur own books on these little stations on the side. those are cool. :D
well, i'll start from the beginning of today.
i slept in today..so i had to really hurry to school. the field trip started at 8:20 and i woke up at 7:50. that was pretty late eh? i got dressed and everything, and went out at 7:56 to see the bus leaving. so, i had to wait for another 10 minutes for the next bus. it turns out that i wasnt late for school at all. in fact, i had to wait in the cold, windy weather for such a long time. i noticed that mr. olson was wearing shorts. SHORTS! in the cold wind! wasnt he cold?!? i was wearing a thick poofy jacket and was still cold.
we got into the bus, and i sat all by myself. nolan was busy showing shannon his elementary school in grade 5 (emily carr), and i was busy trying to sleep. karen sat with kelly, so i sat by myself. daniel was sleeping too.
when we got to science world, we had to wait outside for a long time too.. later, we went to the omnimax theatre to watch "a human body"..blah blah boring. and we went to body worlds 3 exhibit. did i mention that telus bought science world? i could believe it. i dont want science would to be bought by telus. for some reason, i have a grudge against telus. even though my internet connection and phone connetions are both telus, i still had this little feeling that telus is greedy. well, i wouldnt want shaw to buy science world anyways. the point is, science world is no longer science world, but the telus world of science. noooooo
ok, inside bodyworlds three, we looked at lungs, intestines, muscles, blood vessels, and everything. it was quite fascinating to be how the ppl stayed upright. there was a body of a man jumping, and the only part of him that touched anything was his thigh, and it only slightly touched a bar. i checked around for strings. there werent any. i would really like to solve to mystery of how they keep bodies balanced.
we got back from science world to do a math test. it was sooo easy. im pretty sure i got all the questions right.
and square dancing..the part that i want to talk about most. this time, we chose our own groups and danced with them for the whole period. at first, i was in a group that was okay at square dancing, but i wasnt exactly pleased to dance with them. then, the girls who were sitting out chose to dance in our group, so we had to sit out. they danced to one song, and it was our turn to pick a group. guess wat? rachel (in my group) just happened to pick the group that had the guy i liked to dance with in it (ahem no names)! dat was fun. i got to dance in that group for the rest of PE class. this was the last square dancing class, and the best class ever! did i mention that we got a candy cane afterwards?
when we come back in january, we're doing...guess wat? gymnastics!! i love gymnastics. when i was 5, i did a little bit of ballet, and in grade 4 and 5, i was in gymnastics club. the teacher in charge of gymnastics club was also my grade 4 teacher, and also a participant in the olympics for gymnastics. i learned a lot of gymnastics that way, but for the past 3 years, i've gotton pretty rusty. well, i'll try to get unrusty during the winter holidays. and the best part is, we're doing gymnastics with the same grade 9 class! im excited. the grade 8 boys that i noe are just plain ugly, or they just dont appeal to me.

Term 2 Blog #20

Wednesday, December 20, 2006

yay i love writing blogs now! but i dont really want to do it when im busy, but right now, im a bit bored, so im gonna write a blog!
today, we were searching up ppl's names on google images and making fun of the pictures. i usually add the word "obese" to my searches, and we came up with a really obese christine. i mean, the butt was soooo wide, i can probably fit 3 of my own butts in it. and wrap myself in it, lol, thats sick.
we looked up daniel's, michelle's karen's, and christine's names, occasionally adding ugly or obese to the name. once, i even added obese butt. it came up with 2 large obese ppl with big butts haha.
we're going to science world tomorrow hurray! im actually intruiged by gross things instead of being uh.. ewwwwwwwwwed out by it. *poke poke* well, some things that are a bit too gross would be overboard, but i dont mind a bit of nosepicking. some ppl thought that using retainers as a spoon to eat was really gross, but i didnt think it was too gross. (for more information, view blog number 10) its MY spit, MY retainer, MY food. everything's mine. MINE MINE MINE MINE and dont u take it.
the pimples on my forehead are kinda reappearing. theyre always there, but the pimples between my eyebrows are just ANNOYING. well, i cant really feel them when i wrinkle my eyebrows, but if i can feel them, then they're feel like lumps of cheese sticking into my flesh. there are 2 big ones, and the others are just a blob of colour now. the main big pimple disappeared yesterday, but 2 small pimples revived after the other disappeared. they are a never-ending supply of pimples.
Karen just showed me a part of the violin prodigy's neck that looked kinda weird. she said it was disguesting, but to be truthful, i dont see wats really wrong with it at all. theres a bit of a red blob that shows when he plays the violin. if i thought it was gross, i would describe it as "one giant 2-centimetre pimple," but right now, i'll just say its a part of the skin that has a slightly different hue.
amy told me to take notes of a guy she likes who is in my math class. i liked him in grade 6, but i hardly notice him anymore. well, anyway, i took notes of him during math class for her, and she was pretty pleased. all he did was bury his head in his arms and either sleep or cry (though i dont think its very likely that he was crying) and put his hands on the back of his neck. he sits next to a girl who has very colourful hair. its purple, blue, and pink, but her original hair colour is blond. amy was quite pleased with my notes though. shes kinda obsessed with him. i dont blame her. im obsessed with anime.
ok, back to flaws in ppl's looks. smart-and-arrogant midget (not daniel, but another guy) has wrinkles next to his eyes when he smiles. so does emily. but its not that bad. at least his smile is true and meanful, not one of the cold smiles. my eyes kinda become slinty when i laugh, i think.
umm...now, its going to be special features of ppl's face, since i cant think of many flaws. i mean, the wrinkles next to smart-and-arrogant midget's eyes aren't really ugly. now, i will talk about daniel's freakishly large eyes. those eyes are just huge. Two humongus almonds next to each other, with a black pea in the middle. and when he stares at an old lady/man with those eyes, they're going to have a heart attack. well, we got used to it now, so i dont really get surprised anymore, but his eyes are still huge.
rochelle's eyes are also really big, but shes' so pretty. her hair is so healthy too (unlike mine), but she has a bit, tiny bit, (im not saying shes fat or obese) of fat on her stomach. a tiny tiny bit. it just shows when she wears her tank top. shes social and good at school too, with a large tv. aww i wanna have a large tv.
ooo christine has large eyes too, though i dont really know what to say about hers. they're normally large, and they're nice.
i'll continue with the special features of people next blog. please comment, i really wanna noe whether its just karen and mr. olson who are reading my blogs.

our party today wasnt really that fun, except for the part where we watched i, robot. that was interesting, makes me wanna read the book. but i have other books to read first. and homework to do first.
PE today was okay too. this time, the boys rotated, not the girls. the guy that i like to dance with didnt rotate to my group yet before PE was over, so that was kinda sad. but otherwise, it was okay.
we had a music concert today. i screwed up a few times, but it wasnt bad. i just stoped for a few beats and then kept playing. too bad i didnt get to hear the advanced orchestra play "spring". i really wanted to hear that. but karen's parents have already been waiting outside for 15 minutes and we didnt want them to wait any longer. :'( sad sad sad i wanna hear spring
when i got home, i ate a bit of dinner, and did homework for the rest of the time. now, im hungry all over again. gonna have a big breakfast tmw. bye

geez geez geez geez. yet another looong english homework. well, i still like english. the teacher doesnt give us aa lot of homework. and tomorrows the birthday party hurray!
well, the science lab is due tomorrow, so i gotta hurry.
there was strings today, that was quite good i guess, except for praeludium and allegro. ziran hogs the spotlight all for himself, playing all those really fast notes. its sounds really pretty. but u noe wat we do there? we play mostly whole notes. if u dont noe wat they are, i cant tell u that they are long. loooooong. we put the bow on the same string and pull it for a looong time. so boring. and ziran plays all these complicated notes. *snore snore* but the brandenburg concerto is quite good. to be honest, i like the second movement better than the first movement. but we're playing the first movement for the concert tomorrow, so we're practicing that a lot.

ahhh sigh, almost done homework. i finished my part in the science lab and sent it to karen and joy. please, joy, karen, check your email inboxes today! and finish your part, so that we could finish it before tomorrow. well, its due on tuesday, but i wanna finish it tmw.
i think theres going to be a science test soon, before the winter holidays anyway. chapter 3 test. wait, i think i have a math test on thursday. piece of cake. i dont mind math tests. they're easy.
im going to kelly's birthday party today at 5:30 yay! do we have to pay for the movie ticket? well, if i have to, i'll just use the coupons my dad got for his birthday. his company give him tickets and he gave them to me.
well, i didnt noe wat to give kelly for her birthday, so i wrapped up chocolates...
i feel sick today, not that im actually sick, but i feel really bad. i wanna sleep, but i wanna watch tv as well. theres skating, i wanna watch it! but i wanna finish this blog as well. umm. wat to say? my mom failed her driving test because she made this turn that was a little bit too dangerous and she has to take another one in march. geez shes been driving for 3 years already and still didnt pass her driving test. now, shes just slacking off, saying that she still has 2 and a half months left.

"An Inconvenient Truth" Terms and Questions

1. Canary in a Coal Mine

A canary is used as a gas-testing subject in mines. Miners place canaries into coal mines to see if there is enough oxygen in the air. If the canaries die, that means that there was poisoned air or there wasn't enough oxygen.

2. Anomaly

Something that is not normal or is departed from a common order, form or rule. In the last few years, there have been carbon dioxide abnomalies in the atmosphere.

3. Concensus

An agreement in a group or community, or a theory/practice that needs to reach an agreement.

4. Hurricane

(can also be called typhoons or cyclones depending on where hurricane originates) Hurrianes are rotatory storms that form in the ocean.

5. Ocean Current

The different directions that ocean waters move; some are warm, others are cold

6. plate tectonics

Large plates that slowly slide over each other over a period of time, causing earthquakes

7. Ice age

A period of time when the temperature drops very low on earth. The last ice age took place 10,000 years ago.

8. Glacier

A large sheet/chunk of ice

9. Carbon capture and sequestration

A method of confining carbon and then storing it under the earth’s surface so that it would not reach the atmosphere.

10. Greenhouse gases

A blanket in the earth’s atmosphere that prevents some of the sun’s rays from bouncing off the earth. It is thickened by the pollution we produce, so more rays get trapped under the atmosphere.

11. Peer reviewed journal

A journal or a book that has been examined by a specialists in that specific area before it is published.

12. Baby boom

A period after World War II when there was a huge population increase. A lot of couples waited to get married or to get babies after the war was over, resulting in a huge birth rate increase.

13. Permafrost

Ice in the arctic or Antarctica that never melts, not even in the summer.

14. Coral reef

A type of coral skeleton that lives on the sea ground. It is home to the coral polyps as well as many fishes pollution and over-fishing has caused coral bleaching, and as corals die, the fishes and polyps that live in it die as well.

15. Kyoto protocol

An improvement of the international agreement on climate change and pollution set by the United Nations.

16. What are we already doing about the problem of global warming?

The government is issuing new laws to protect our environment, and a lot of us are recycling, reusing, and composting organic garbage. Prominent leaders and business leaders changed their POV’s and tries to control the pollution that they’re putting into the air. The government is also using new technology to clean up oil spills.

17. Who should solve the problem of global warming, and why?

I think all of us are involved in the problem of global warming. Everyone has to play a part in reducing the pollution. If only the US Prime Minister works very hard on it, but does not get the cooperation of his people, it will not be very effective.

18. What observations have you made during your lifetime to confirm global warming is taking place? What changes have your parents seen during their lifetimes. What changes have your grandparents seen during their life times. You have to interview them!!!!

My grandparents and parents have seen a river in China turn from clear water to murky water with dead fish. Then, just in the last couple of years, my grandparents saw that the lake water was slowly turning clear again. I’ve seen myself that lots of factories have been putting out pollution.

19. What are the more complex changes that need to be made to reverse the global climate changes that have happened already?

Some of us are more concerned about the economy than the earth. There is no economy without earth, however. I think a law should be issued on how much pollution a factory is allowed to put out in the air per day and a better method of getting rid of carbon dioxide is needed. Also, we need to plant many more trees. Lots of animals are dying because of the lack of trees, as well as more forest fires.

20. Find two good websites about global warming.

http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/

http://www.globalwarming.net/

21. Write and send a letter to your Premier about your concerns about global warming.

Hello,

Global warming has been making drastic changes in the environment. If this goes on, the earth would be no more and we would have to migrate to other planets if it actually is possible.

I think you should do a premier go lesson on how we should protect the environment. It’s protecting ourselves and others, in a way. Begin with the end in minds. The destruction of earth is the ultimate end if we don’t start protecting it soon.

Sincerely,

Wendy

22. Watch the evening news, count the number of times that global warming is mentioned. If the answer is zero, call the station and ask to speak to the producer.

3 times

23. Email all of your friends and encourage them to see the movie "An Inconvenient Truth"

Ok

24. Engage your friends in a dialogue about global warming.

Ok.

my multimedia blog number 2
i drew this picture during the summer, probably at the end of july. i wrote down the date on the corner, but im too lazy to get my drawing book. i've probably lost it.
anywayz, i shaded this picture too because it usually looks better when its shaded, in my opinion. i tried colouring a few pictures, and they turned out ugly because i was using the wrong shade of colour. well, some of them turned out okay. also, when you colour, you usually fineline first. A lot of pictures go bad after you fineline them. In a drawing, a line that is only a little bit off can make the overall result look much...distorted. For example, if the bottom of the face has a line that is a little bit less slanted than its supposed to be, the person will look either fatter or their jaw will look awkward. if it's too slanted, the person will look painfully bony. this is also especially true in drawing hands. see how i drew the hand in the picture above? it looks like a claw, doesnt it? i messed it up big time. the lines are a bit too short; the stretched hand can cover your face. if you open up the hand in the picture (with ur imagination), would it cover the person's face? no. so i drew it weirdly.

為什麼我們要去大學?

ok, this is stupid, i noe, but im gonna post my chinese essays on the internet. In case I need them someday or if I want to read them. the topic of the essay is especially stupid. really stupid. but i'll keep u on a cliffhanger about its topic if u dont noe how to read chinese.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG i have sooo much homework.
Monday--bring some pics to French, which is easy
--Social studies questions and terms, which are do-able, but uses time
Tuesday--Science lab report...very hard, and im most likely going to do bad on this
Wednesday--English project due..its doable as well, but uses aaaaa looooooooot of time. and karen is so fussy
we were going to do science after school today, but joy, karen, and i were just disgussing "hot" boys. well, im not going to list names of ppl we talked about..i'll just give them letters. Joy and I agreed that we would go out with person A, if we had to, but Karen thought person B was better looking. True, person B was very good looking, but person A is more talkative and funny. I'll rather person A. But then, both person B and A are in middle years. I personally dont like either person A or B...i actually like a grade 9 guy in my PE class. he is sooo good-looking and dances very well. I remember wat he wears every PE class!! He wore a white shirt that says Puma last class as well as black pants. Today, he word a black puma shirt with black pants. boy, he sure likes puma. this is the first time in 2 years that i got a new crush. i did not like anyone, absolutely not anyone, in mr. biela's class, and the guy i used to like left. so for 2 years, you could say i still liked the guy i liked in grade 6, or i had no crush at all.
aaaaahhhh im not going to write anymore on my blogs about crushes. or anywayz, not my crushes anyway. these are public and if the puma guy sees this, i'll go nuts. nuts nuts. its not very likely that the puma guy would be able to find this site, but yeaa i still dont want him to see this.
i think i'll really try to finish my homework before sunday, but thats as impossible as an alien dropping in front of me in the next month or so. i didnt even start on my chinese homework yet. oh n is there a french test tmw? i never study for french tests, and therefore, i get B's and C+'s, which are fine by me because they dont count for my permanent record. learning french is just...learning. all i have to do is "learn" in french lessons. there arent any projects where you have to think. by the way, im not talking about french in school. im talking about my french course. i do well enough in my french class at school of course, only for the sake of getting an A. :D. that's not a very good reason, though, but mostly, letter grades are wat drives me (just like how i would drive a car, haha *dry humour*)
i dont really care about wat i get on the chinese exams anymore either, as long as i get over 90, or around 90, which is really easy to get. most ppl get over 95 percent in chinese school, well, for the ppl still in elementary chinese that is. i just started high school chinese and it got soooo much harder. im still bad at chinese though. wish i could stop it and learn at home. :'( but then again, there wont be pressure and i might not do it at all.

yet another homework loat has stuck us again! we are struggling with the pressure that has dawned upon us, pushing us down by the second. oh how i wish we were back in elementary school. then again, high school is sometimes fun. we got our report card today...report cards are good news for some ppl and bad news for other ppl. i personally like report cards, probably because i have high grades. but on the contrary, i hated report cards in grade 4. u should have seen my grades. well, the last report card was okay, but the first term was just awful.
well, i got the honor roll, as i predicted. i kinda expected a ceremony where u give out certificates, like wat happened in norquay, but i suppose churchill has too many students and it would take too long for that.
well, i dont wat to write a long post today because of all the homework, n i gotta catch up in piano. kkk bye

Family Reflections
LESSON 14: Sit down and discuss some things that are important to each member in your family. How can you help each other accomplish these things?
My mom and dad want to watch tv and do their hobbies when they're not at work. I want to finish my homework as fast and efficiently as possible. We could just mind our own businesses to do the things we want to do. My mom and dad sometimes will help me do my homework, but they don't need help to watch TV.

Term 2 Blog #12

i actually like square dancing...maybe more than gymnastics. it was really fun today, partly because i knew what to do, and partly because i was mostly dancing with grade 9's (they're better at dancing than grade 8's).
theres this guy who looks really good, dances really well, and his hands are not too bony or too fat. im not gonna go for a description in case someone reads this blog and noes him. anyways, dancing with him was nice. when we were sitting down, i was another person's partner. all the other girls were grade 9's, and they all pinched their partners' cheeks. well, ive never pinched a boy's cheek before n i dont intend to anytime soon. my partner was just looking at me (i think he was expecting the pinch), but it never came. ahaha too bad for him.
last time we were square dancing, i walked up to this guy and sat down, only i was on the wrong side of him. another girl sat on the right side of him, and i didnt notice. ppl were telling me to go to the boy left, and i was really confused. it took me awhile to realize, and i walked to him. the guy next to him whispered to him "wow, you got the beauty" 'cause the 3 girls there werent really that pretty and one had a lit of pimples. i was just normal.
well, science and math today was really fun. i mean, we had a substitute called Ms. Gilbert and she teaches really well. and acts really well. i wish she's our permanent teacher, not that i dont like ms. hu or anything.
i should have gone to the dance tonight. its too late to get the ticket now, and it'll be weird for me to go the the valentione's dance. well, i'll go with karen, and i hope no-one will think we're lesbian.
report cards are coming out tomorrow, but for the first time since grade 4, im not apprehensive. the teawchers posted our marks ahead of time, and i already know what's on my report card. well, actually, i sill dont really know what i got for PE cause the paper Ms. Bretherton posted didnt include the basketball skill testing. I hope I still got a B in PE at least. as for the others, i did pretty well on them. too bad i didnt get on the principals list cause of PE. I think Joy got in though.
for the first time in a long time, im watching the zone. i wonder why Teen Titens isnt on at 4 oclock anymore. there are new teen titens episodes, n i wanna watch them. its 4:30 right now, n im watching avatar. actually, i like avatar. its very funny.

well, my second blog today
im listening to jpop right now. yay jpop rocks! the only music i like are jpop and classical. my least favourite kind of music is rap. isnt it just fast speaking? i can probably do rap too. some lyrics of rap are just vulgar. ugh
well, for english, we have a project, or a timeline for the book we're reading. i suppose its pretty easy to do, but it requires time, and its due next wednesday. i ahve a week. i think i'll review science and finish science first. i still dont really understand some of my notes. i try to understand it as i copy it, but sometimes ms. hu goes too fast, i miss her explanations when i copy the notes, its almost impossible for me to comprehend it. i get all the basic information jumbled up, and when she talks about more in depth information, i dont really understand it. better read the textbook! well, the bad thing is that ms. hu gives us extra information that is not in the textbook. if i dont understand what she explains that is not in the textbook, i'll be a dead...fly? no it was meat.. yah dead meat.
my blogs are getting longer and longer, and im typing faster and faster. i like typing! but now, i have to do homework and play piano. well, after i finish this blog.
when i read karen's blogs today, i read her multimedia post. it was about nicole richi and paris hilton. it said that their parents were famous and that they were born famous. so i searched them up. im not really sure wat the father of nicole richi did, but he was in a band in the 1980's or sth. But i understood who paris hilton's parents were. they were the owners of the hilton hotel chain! omg.. i went to a hilton hotel twice for parties, and it was sooo nice inside! and paris hilton is supposed to be the heiress of the hilton hotel chain. it makes sense to me now. i never connected her last name with the hotel when i saw in this magazine that umm.. mary kate's boyfriend went to a party with paris hilton. they went in the washroom together for a very long them n came out looking ruffled. that was a long time ago. anywayz, im really bad with celebrities. but they're interesting.
okkkk im gonna do science now. bye

Term 2 Blog #10

ok, this is yesterday, December 11th's blog, OK? i was really tired yesterday and did not do one.
Homework's piling up again. I even have to worry about math homework. we were supposed to measure the math classroom (or science classroom, cause ms. hu teaches me both math and science) and draw them on a paper with the proper scale. my scale is 1:40, whilch is the largest i can make it. 1:50 would probably be easier, but it'll be smaller. i wasnt sure whether i would have to put the dimentions on the good copy too though. but in case i needed to, i put them there, and i could ask ms. hu during science class whether im supposed to or not.
karen set her blog to public yay! i love reading her blogs, even though its rewally long. its really really interesting. well, mine are getting a bit long, but i like writing stuff down.
i was eating with my retainers yestereday, cause i forgot to pack my spoon. ppl were gasping and gawking at me. to me, it isnt gross. i mean, the retainer was made for me, it has only MY spit on it, and it was shaped like a spoon. actually, no, ppl weren't just gawking at me, there were walking away from me. these two girls, very impolite and mean girls, were forwning at me and saying "OMG that's soo gross!" its like they truely hated me, or like im their enemy or something. other ppl just said its disgusting in a better manner, and just went back to their business. those two girls were just soo mean. karen and i were arguing about whether its gross or not after school. i took the not gross side, of course. she tried to explain why its gross to me, but i just don't get it. why do ppl have to be disgusted if it doesnt affect them? it affects me and only me. im eating with a retainer. so wat? its not like they're eating with their retainer. and its not im eating with someone else's retainer. its just like a spoon except it doesnt have the handle. Thats ALL. Geez, ppl act soo cool these days, and goes EWWW to everything abnormal they see. i noe i could go down to the cafeteria to get a spoon, but i really needed to eat and there wasnt much time left. at least karen and joy should appreciate me for doing more than 1/3 of the work for the science lab already. my stomach was empty because of it. but noooo karen thought it was really gross too. im so pissed right now.

oh my goodness there are so many emails going around about science. just this morning, i opened my email inbox to fin 12 unread emails. and just now, when i signed in msn messenger, it notified me that i have 5 unread messages.
the pimples between my eybrows are healing yay! my mom told me to put some pearl dust mixed with water on it, n it worked. just this morning, i put some on, and its headling so quick now!
well, like i said at the beginning of september, i would always like day 1s better than day 2s. i actually like science, just not the fact that i get so much homework from it.
i didnt do much today, only reading a lot of chinese and playing a lot of piano. i wrote down the words that i didnt noe from the novel, and practicing piano was just a pain. i close my eyes half the time i play piano, did u noe that? it helps me concentrate, and it kind of gives me some sleep. of course, i wasnt sleeping while playing piano, but closing my eyes is like resting. i open my eyes when i have to play keys that are far apart, of course, in case i miss them.
we had a debate in chinese school yesterday. it was weird. my topic was why people wanted to go to university. i thought the topic was really stupid. people wanted to go to university so that they can learn and get a good job, of course! duh!! there were other topics such as "does the internet help people do their homework?" or "do grades help boost ppl's confidence?" well, the 2nd topic wasnt nearly as stupid as mine, but "does the internet help people do their homework" is just so obvious. i read my points from a sheet of paper when i was in front of the room, and i got really red... ive never been good at public speaking. i suppose i would have to try to do better.
i finished playing all the scales for grade 8 piano yay! n ive memorized them, but for some, i have to think before i remember how the scale goes. the melodic and harmonic minor scales are just driving me nuts!! n i dont like G flat major and E flat major. the appagios for those are all on the black keys, and its hard to play them fast when they're all on black keys.

Term 2 Blog #8 (Multimedia Blog #1)

Saturday, December 09, 2006

ok, for my multimedia blogs, im going to write about the pictures of anime shows ive drawn. here is my picture for this week: this is a picture of shinichi and ran from detective conan. if u would like to know more about detective conan, please click here for the blog i wrote about detective conan. or, if u'll like to look at summaries and pictures of the anime shows i like, click here. it includes ah! my goddess, bleach, death note, detective conan, fullmetal alchemist, inuyasha, and naruto.
I drew this picture on august the 24th, 2006, so that was this summer, and i copied it from the detective conan manga number...darn...forgot the number.. but it was somewhere in episodes:
188 The Desperate Revival, the Cavern of the Detective Boys
189 The Desperate Revival, The Wounded Great Detective
190 The Desperate Revival, the Third Choice
191 The Desperate Revival, The Black Knight
192 The Desperate Revival, Shinichi's Return
193 The Desperate Revival, The Promised Place
In these 6 episodes, Conan turned back to Shinichi when he took the pill that Ai Haibara gave him. It was probably the best 6 episodes in the series. the best episodes after that were the 1-hour specials and the 2-hour specials.
Anyway, when I was drawing this, I copied the original picture and went over everything with a 4B pencil. and shaded it with a 4B pencil. *note, I did NOT trace it
and, well, i suppose ran looks a bit weird, and shinichi's eyes were a bit too big, but that's okay. wat matters is that I drew it.

Term 2 Blog #7

Friday, December 08, 2006

well, i'll do the multi-media blog tomorrow. today, im just gonna rant about how mean dani & michelle YIM (not pham, michelled pham is really nice) are.
1) today, dani was walking about how she wants to avoid joe, and she said "i dont wanna see him (meaning joe) , and *points at mike* i dont want to see HIM either" she doesnt really know who mike is, n mike was only 10 cm away from her. mike is pretty nice, actually, n she just says that she doesnt want to see him right in his face. isn't that really mean?
2) dani wrinkles her eyebrows together whenever someone does something that doesnt make sense or something that is very weird. i mean, i do a lot of weird stuff, so she frowns at me a lot. its not very pleasant to see someone frowning at u, especially when the person is ur 2nd best friend's (amy) best friend. well, amy and karen used to be both my best friends, but since amy is in the reg program, i dont see her very much. also, since she started secondary school, she became very different. im not sure whether this is positive or negative, but she became so social that she's acting a bit mean to those that are not her friends.
3) michelle YIM is also a nightmare, but not as much as dani. shes pretty mean and bossy, but shes pretty. i mean, dani and michelle are both pretty. but its just that they're mean. michelle YIM is arrogant and climbs all over boys, like Ina in "the brown suitcase." boys pay attention to her as well. i can tell u that this is NOT jealousy because i do NOT want to climb all over boys. it might be a bit better if i were a bit more social, but i dont want to go to the extremes. michelle yim went well into the extremes. that's why i dont like her.

Term 2 Blog #6

Thursday, December 07, 2006

well, it was quite a day today. there was a big new lab report assigned today for science, and i had to do a math assignment (not the homework) as well. wat a pain. i mean, i already know most of the stuff in math, why do i have to do those stupid assignments? i should just focus on science.
PE today was okay too. the thing i notice most about the boys i dance with is the temperature of their hands. my hand is usually burning hot since i usually wear 2 layers, and i sweat a lot. most hands (of a boy) are really cold. n i like that. i told karen this, n she said "you know, it'll be really funny if a boy u danced with said at this moment that he liked a girl's hand because it felt warm, and mine was cold." hehe...
i went to karen's new apartment after school today to do our language arts project. i ended up spending most of the time doing the science graph while karen looked at webpages online. she found vidoes of arun dancing in the dance compitition, and i told her about arun's picture on the churchill website.
after that, we went to her room to decide on symbols for our english project. i wasnt really thinking had cause i was doing my science at the same time, so she did most of the work. i think i only thought up 3 symobls.
then, when i went back home, i was starving. really starving. i ate 3 pieces of bread with avocado (i noe, weird combination), and i ate a lot of fish as well. after that, i played piano. the scales are soo hard to memorize, especially C sharp minor, E flat minor, and B flat minor. they mostly have the same flats / sharps, so i confuse them with one another.
my mom's gonna take driving lessons on saturday, so i'll have to finish my chinese homework during weekdays. well, that'll leave me with almost nothing to do on saturdays except play piano and go to my courses, so i'll have a lot of free time this saturday.
my mom told me my face looks really gray and tired, as if i didnt wash my face today. she said i should seriously get more sleep, so im going to take her advice and sleep now. Ciao!
